"The Great Autumn & The Fall Of Dead Leaves"
“Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people that produces its fruits.”
Matthew 21:43 NRSVUE
“On the following day, when they came from Bethany, he was hungry. Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to see whether perhaps he would find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. He said to it, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard it.”
Mark 11:12-14 NRSVUE
“Then they came to Jerusalem. And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who were selling and those who were buying in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves, and he would not allow anyone to carry anything through the temple. He was teaching and saying, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? But you have made it a den of robbers.” And when the chief priests and the scribes heard it, they kept looking for a way to kill him, for they were afraid of him because the whole crowd was spellbound by his teaching.”
Mark 11:15-18 NRSVUE
“Unavoidable. All of it, unavoidable.
The contents brimming, starting to spill over. About to be poured out. A deluge of consequences. A great reaping. The Autumn Harvest. What has been sown coming to fruition.
A blowing. A tempest. An Eastern Wind. Blowing. Blowing. Shaking the limbs of Great Trees. Quickening the fall of Dead and Dying Leaves. Spiraling downward. Helplessly toward the ground.
Inevitable. A now inevitable fate. The bright colors of Orange and Red losing their appeal…Their luster… As they are made to fall. Shown for what they truly are: Dead Leaves. Dying flora. Having the appearance of life but twice dead.
Unregenerate for one. And having dealt treacherously… Having struck a Deal with a Devil or two or more… For another.
All the leaves will be shaken from the Tree. And the Tree will be laid bare. Exposed for what it truly is. No longer hidden behind innumerable branches covered in foliage. Twisted and warped. Gnarled. With an intricate and widespread root system. Touching every facet of the American Landscape. Lurking beneath the soil of the foundations of its Institutions.
A Tree of Corruption: it stands firm. Deeply rooted. Education. Industry. Entertainment. Healthcare. Nutrition. Media. Religion. The Church.
For some time the ax has been laid to the root of this Tree. Yet none have been willing to swing it. There has stood too much to be gained and too much to be lost. Yet whatever has been gained will pale in comparison to what many are about to lose.
What a joy when one sows in righteousness and reaps its harvest! What sorrow awaits the one who sows in wickedness and treachery…For in these days, such a harvest will yield a crop of corruption in this life as well as the one to come.
The Great Autumn approaches. Yet few have recognized that the Season has changed. The Tree and its leaves have continued in corruption, deepening their roots ever further. Unaware of what awaits them.
The pouring out of the bowls. The blowing of the Eastern Wind. The shaking of the Tree.
And the Fall of Dead and Dying Leaves.”
