The Head and the tail are both meant to travel in the same direction, one arriving at a destination before the other, as the Head always assumes the lead with the tail lagging behind.
When these two were joined together, the partnership was designed in such a way that where One went, so did the other. Although the Head determines their direction, the tail can only see where they have been because, positionally, he is at the back end. And since the tail operates from a limited viewpoint, his understanding comes from what he has already experienced, which is why it is up to the Head to establish their heading, for He sits at a higher position, and therefore His perspective is ever forward-facing with a clear view of the horizon.
This is why it is wise for the tail to always follow the Head, for He can see what is coming long before the tail has reached each point on their journey, and so knows exactly where the tail should step to ensure solid footing is found. The tail was never meant to be out in front and dictate to the Head which way they should travel, for how can one who was never designed to navigate the path presume to tell the Head what to do next?
Yet, this is exactly what is happening within My Body. Those whom I’ve set as overseers are pushing an agenda that is not My own, as these have set their gaze on returning to “what was” and how their churches were accustomed to functioning. However, as the Head over the Church in its entirety, I have a different plan in mind altogether. But because assumptions have been made about why there is opposition coming against My Body, these leaders and believers are missing My hand in the current shutdown. Thinking it’s just the enemy up to his old tricks, they have formed battle lines in the wrong places, relying on outdated strategies to use in the fight.
The strength of these walls (those barriers put in place by the government to prevent churches from meeting in the normal manner) has been a surprise. And so many pastors have looked for ways around these restrictions instead of asking where and how I now want the Church to stand. They have mistaken My Presence in their midst as meaning I approve of their decisions to meet outside, or hold socially distanced services in their buildings. What these also appear to have forgotten is that I promised never to abandon My children. Just as I was with Israel in the wilderness, by remaining faithful to her, even though My people rebelled again and again, so I am with the Church today, for never once shall I forsake My Beloved.
But just because I have honored My word to remain ever present, this should not be understood as a sign of My “favor”, and that My Body is aligned with what I had planned for this season. Although I took care of My people during those days of wandering, it was because they continued to rebel against Me that an entire generation passed without knowing My full promise or experiencing the “more” which I wanted for them just on the other side of the Red Sea.
Yet this is often the result when the tail tries to lead the Head. For though many saw the great miracles I performed to bring them freedom, and then again when they walked through parted waters on dry land, once they stood on unfamiliar ground, these children wanted to run right back to what they knew: back into that constrained way of life, which, even if it inhibited their freedom, these were willing to accept as bondage, if only to recover a sense of normalcy and security again.
So like an animal which has contorted its body attempting to bring its tail forward, up, and even with its head, this configuration leaves the hind feet pointing the wrong direction, where a step forward when holding this stance will always result in backward motion (since the tail is now facing opposite from the head).
[Note: It was here that I saw a dog trying to bend itself in half, but his tail end couldn’t quite reach where his head and front paws were standing.]
So many in My Body have tried to reposition themselves to lead ahead of Me, and have taken it upon themselves to speak on My behalf, assuming, because they are overseers, that they’re delivering the correct message. Those who are encouraging their congregations, and other believers, to protest against the government by gathering outside in large numbers, unmasked without social distancing, need to take a step back and then re-align themselves with Me, in the proper position, for this is not where I am headed at all.
Again, I say to My children, “Start meeting in your homes!” For there, in the midst of those intimate gatherings, you shall experience the “more” I have stored up for this generation of believers: those who walk with the indwelling of My Spirit.
If this is what I have promised to do, why settle for a lesser relationship with Me just because it feels comfortable and secure? Therefore, stop trying to find a way around the governmental regulations so that the Church can hold large gatherings. Again I remind you that My will is for you to be “the Church” during this season, meaning that believers must set aside their old mindsets about how this should look, where a church logo and building encompasses the entirety of their spiritual identity instead of simply walking in the fullness of who I created them to be.
So to reshape their thinking about who they are and ignite all the gifts I have placed inside them, I have called for these in-home gatherings; but not as an extension of their congregations, where they meet to watch the pastor’s latest teaching. No. What I have in mind looks nothing like this at all. Therefore, turn off your TV’s and other devices, then enter My presence with worship. And while there, let each one who has gathered give My Spirit the room to stir up their giftings, the spiritual anointing I have placed upon each of My children.
Then consider this your permission to open up your homes, and invite some you know, those who believe in Me, to join you. For this is the direction the Head is moving, which means the tail should follow.
“And God put everything under His feet and made Him head over everything for the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.” – Ephesians 1:22-23
