Feet of clay
Brittle
Unyielding
An inflexibility to change
Rigid
Self-determined
As such does the Church stand; for surely, set in her ways, has she become.
Old wine
Outdated
Expired
Yet does she prefer its flavor over that of the new wine that I have begun to pour out
“Give us the old vintage!”
“Let nothing change!”
Thus can the collective voice of the Church be heard saying.
Corrupt are her leaders
A fact that is proven
Still is she more than willing to overlook their “moral failings” if it means the status quo is not disturbed.
Complacent
Even rebelliously so
As such is the attitude of the Church. For she refuses to make a hard stand against evil, even when it is being committed right under her nose.
Complicit
Accessories after the fact
Thus shall the Church be held culpable for the wickedness she let knowingly dwell in her midst.
Ignorant
Unaware
Neither excuse can she now use, for surely has the Church been confronted with “exposures” seemingly everywhere she turns.
A systematic failure
A faulty structure
As such must a tearing down of what has been, now commence, lest the Church remain in that poor condition. For indeed has she rendered herself ineffective.
Lukewarm
Neither hot nor cold
Thus is her spiritual flow like tepid waters. For indeed is the flame coursing through her now nothing but a flicker of what it used to be. And so powerless is she to effect any real change, for instead of driving out darkness wherever it can be found, she has welcomed evil in through her doors.
Adulterers
Predators
Deceivers of the worst kind
Even still does the Church go along with their charade, for she is stubbornly resisting any form of drastic and lasting change.
A public apology
Claims of repentance
Nothing more does she require of those clergy abusers. For the Church. by and large. does not appear interested in actually holding her leaders accountable, as she gives them a slap on the wrist when I am attempting to hold their feet to the flames.
A pressing
A squeezing
As if being run through a wine press; thus is the process the Church is undergoing. For I mean to rid her of every last drop of the old wine she has been consuming and break her free from the old wineskin. As such shall disruptions abound, for indeed is this the season in which the Church is now standing.
Indeed then, have I come in this hour to disrupt the systems and structures of the Church. Thus am I now speaking, “Disrupt, disrupt, disrupt! For I am not content to leave things as they are and, as such, the status quo must now be disrupted. For far too long has the Church been sitting back and simply resting upon her laurels.”
Then let the Church now be forewarned, for more disruptions are coming!
