“Lend Me your ear”, meaning: stop listening to the other voices, and only listen to Mine. Your ears belong to you, so you choose which voices you will listen to, which voices you will “lend” your ear, let into your life, into your world.
Will it be the sound of My voice which takes center stage, which turns your head, and directs your path? Or will it be the voices from other places, other sources, that will grab your attention, and guide your path?
The voice that is given the limelight is the one you will follow whether you realize it or not. Your ear gets accustomed to hearing the sound of a voice, especially if it is listened to or heard repeatedly. When you lend your ear to those sources often enough, without thinking, you will begin to align yourself with the message they’re speaking; then your thinking is aligned there too. The message that is then at the forefront of your mind is not of Me, is not Mine, not My message.
Over time, you’ll find that the sound of My voice has been filed at the back of your mind with remembrances of the past; like a distant memory, one forgotten until something triggers a thought of Me. Then, at that moment, you remember what it was like to have Me, to have My voice, at center stage. A fond recollection of what it was like to have Me in that place where My voice was heard over every other voice; when your ear was eager to hear what I was saying to you, the message I was speaking.
Oh, how I long for you to lend Me your ear again! How I long to no longer be a distant memory of experiences you once had with Me! What you don’t realize, and have not yet understood, is that there is no going back with Me, there is only the here and now. The place to begin again is here and now.
I am always doing something “new”, and it is time for you to step into the “new” thing I am doing now. You don’t need to go back and retrace your steps, trying to find the place where you left off. Right here and right now is the place to begin again.
