How can revival come to My Church unless some tribulation is present? For without a little prodding it would seem these complacent children are content to just be acquaintances with their Father. Though some have responded to the stirring in their spirits when My voice called, beckoning to them saying: “Come”, so many of My own still today are keeping Me at arms length, afraid of what a deeper relationship with Me might mean.
And so for most in My Church their hope is held with a very low expectation. For they long to resume the old ways of ‘being and doing”, where being the Church consists of Sunday services and gathering socially during the week at home groups, and where, once that small part of their day is given to “devotions”, then I am forgotten, as they happily chase after their own plans without stopping to ask Me for direction.
So because, to them, a relationship with Me has for so long existed on this shallow plain, these of My own are only looking to have their current problems solved, easing their discomfort so that life can return to normal again.
Then what of their prayers, if these of My own have only set their sights on the short term, where their gaze rests on when the “shutdown” is lifted, and where their petitions are not broad enough to encompass the “new” I am doing in this season?
Oh how I long for My children to come and sit in My tent, and to have them rest in the comfort of My dwelling! My hand created this sacred retreat as the place for My children to develop an intimate relationship with Me. But alas, very few of My own bother to enter this hallowed ground, for there is a reluctance in many to fully leave the world behind. Yet My heart still longs for closeness, when their affections are not divided and our relationship is given their complete attention. For here lies the true reason man was created, as I designed him with the greater purpose of communing with Me.
However many have misunderstood My intentions and have thought the whole point of their existence was to seek out the best of this world. Yet even if this were true, most of My own have never attempted to share their faith and why it was that they accepted Me in the first place.
So though all of My own have been given the Commission to go out into the world and make disciples throughout the nations, their first calling is to be a son or daughter, where thy set aside every pretense of religion which pertains to striving in their own strength and doing good works as the sure way to earn higher favor in My Kingdom. For the position as My heirs already guarantees that the whole of their lives is covered with My kindness and goodwill.
Know this then, that indeed, the rushing wind of revival shall saturate the air, like a warm breeze that fills a man’s lungs with fresh oxygen, bringing a sensation of peace and tranquility to his soul. Yet that momentary sensation in the natural is surpassed when My Spirit comes, as His breath carries the divine power to reach every stagnant place in a believer’s soul.
Therefore, My children should not stand troubled over what is happening in society, or join the push to regain “normalcy”. Instead, be as a child who is waiting in anticipation for their Father to bestow upon them a gift: a wonderful blessing that exceeds anything they could imagine. For this season of adversity was designed to produce internal “change”, where those who are My own re-establish our relationship at a higher level of intimacy.
So do not be disturbed by what the government is doing to this nation, but recognize this season for what it is: a time for reawakening to wash over the Church.
“Awake, awake, put on your strength, O Zion; put on your beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city; for there shall no more come into you the uncircumcised and the unclean. Shake yourself from the dust and arise; be seated, O Jerusalem; loose the bonds from your neck, O captive daughter of Zion.” -Isaiah 52:1-2
