As the mouth of the river opens up to the sea and finally makes its way to where these two bodies of water are joined, this is where the singular force becomes part of a larger whole. The river exists to be its own refreshing canal, yet it is connected to something more expansive. So just as there is a point within the origin of its existence where this tributary began, coming from a space where the water abounds and is established on the earth, My children were created to mimic this design, by being an individual who moves and flows as an estuary of My presence.
From a small trickle, it started to grow into something more, covering the land which had previously been dry and did not have the capacity to produce anything lasting on its own. So each of My chosen are intended to be a source of invigoration as they walk through life, rippling into the barren wasteland of man, cutting through areas known to be hard as stone, because, when the gentle rush of My presence is given the room, it will rise and spread, overtaking a land.
Once My children open themselves to Me, seek a deeper connection to My presence, together we are able to furrow through the thick layers of this world, wash over its hardened walls just as water moves over a large stone, knocking down any obstacles…for there is a power behind the river of My presence.
At first encounter with Me, a fountain of living water springs up, a modest surge begins that is intended to grow and become something greater like the might of a strong current, creating a channel for enlargement, meant to become ever wider, able to cover more and more ground. For when one of My chosen has decided to lift off the barriers between us and no longer put limits upon how I am able to move, many in need can be reached and have their thirst quenched, too.
So then, what started as a humble stream in one, which at first, was only able to affect a few, has become a source of refreshment to many. Though in the beginning, the progression seemed rather slow, and at times felt like a dribble, the strength has turned into something more, expanded with much greater momentum, for now, the power of My river runs through them.
“Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” John 7:38
