Like dysfunctional families are how many of My houses are found operating. For those who lack spiritual wisdom and maturity are being tasked with the care of their siblings, as if toddlers are given the responsibility of running a household. Because those who are in charge are attempting to nurture the whole brood from afar, so many who dwell under their roofs are simply neglected, with little to no attention paid to their spiritual health or development.
So while programs have been put into place as a ‘preventive measure’, hoping to keep parishioners from falling through any structural cracks, many who belong to My family are neither seen or regarded as important, and therefore, leave feeling, in a sense, somewhat invisible. These then travel from congregation to congregation looking for a home, a place where they are welcomed and valued.
So then it’s time now for the return of “fathers and mothers”, those who have the spiritual maturity to disciple My children that are younger in their faith. For this is how I intended the Church to function: similar to that of a natural family, where each member is considered significant, and where much emphasis is placed on raising healthy, productive children.
Yet because the modern-day church has adopted a corporate business structure, with overseers functioning like CEOs, administrating instead of shepherding, where very little of their time is invested in anyone thought to occupy the lower rungs of the ladder in their congregations. For these leaders seek out and cultivate relationships with those that might, in some way, benefit their ministries.
However, this pattern of leadership has created a sense of detachment within My Body, as those who are often referred to as “the father or mother” of a house, have no relationship with many of the believers that regularly attend their services. Yet this outcome is to be expected when the ones who have assumed this position intentionally separate themselves away from those they were called to shepherd.
As a result, the strong family units I had hoped to establish throughout the Church actually function more like broken homes, with pastors behaving like absentee parents who are more interested in sustaining their own platforms than being personally involved with their congregants. Know that it was never My intention to have a single person, or even a couple, oversee multitudes of believers, for who could truly care for more than a handful of individuals?
Then in this season, it is My desire to reestablish the sense of family back into the Church. Therefore, I am calling forth spiritual “fathers and mothers” to arise, those mature believers who walk in wisdom and truth. For many are the number of My lambs in need of sound training so that they, too, can become fully grown and effective members of My flock.
So then, I am calling for this corporate shift, where “family” once again becomes the Church structure with My Son at the center: the nucleus that binds the whole Body together. Therefore let these “fathers and mothers” step forward now, ready to train up the less mature among you, devoting time for the specific purpose of discipleship, where you gather together with one or two, or maybe even a few in order to impart Godly wisdom and instruction.
“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.” -2 Timothy 2:2
